“Our milk solids sold per cow to September 30th has increased over 7% with 2 less cows than last year. This was achieved with no increase in meal fed and a decrease in nitrogen use. Slurrycal is helping in that nitrogen reduction. We are seeing a better response to slurry in terms of grass growth and a marked increase in clover in our fields; in some cases where clover had all but disappeared from paddocks. The power in the slurry is allowing us to reduce our chemical nitrogen use which encourages clover growth and the cows are responding in the milk tank I am very impressed with Slurrycal and am delighted that we made the switch to it.”

Great to welcome 44 second-year students from the Earth & Ocean Sciences and Environmental Science programmes at @UniversityofGalway to our Cong quarry last week. The visit included a guided tour of the site and an overview of how the quarry operates, with a strong focus on environmental management, compliance, and the practical measures we take to meet and exceed our obligations at @McGraths_Limestone_Cong It’s always encouraging to engage with students studying the sciences that underpin our industry and to have open conversations around sustainability and responsible quarrying. A big thank you to Sadhbh and Declan Hughes for helping make the visit such a success. And glad to see the hats came in handy on the next field trip. We’re proud to announce the latest investment in our fleet with the arrival of two...

A huge thank you to @CroiHeartStroke, and to Croí Nurse Caroline Dermody, for returning to @McGraths_Limestone_Cong today to deliver their talk on “Know Your Numbers – Understanding Your Cardiovascular Risk Factors.” We had a fantastic turnout from staff (even if a few managed to dodge the photo 📸), and the session covered everything from stroke and heart disease to key risk factors like cholesterol and diabetes. Most importantly, it highlighted the role we can all play in prevention and long-term health. We’re proud to have raised €2,200 through staff contributions, with additional support from McGraths. We hope this helps in some small way to support the incredible work Croí continues to do.
