Job Role:
To safely, and efficiently operate heavy goods vehicles in the transport of limestone, aggregates, and related materials, while complying with road traffic legislation, health and safety requirements, and company procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate an articulated tipper vehicle for the transport of limestone, aggregates, and related materials
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and pre-trip/post-trip inspections
- Ensure vehicles and trailers are roadworthy and CVRT compliant
- Secure loads in accordance with transport and safety regulations
- Follow quarry traffic management procedures and site-specific safety rules
- Wear the required PPE and comply with all health and safety policies and procedures
- Report vehicle defects, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions
- Accurately complete delivery dockets, tachograph records, and transport documentation
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle
- Liaise professionally with customers, site managers, and colleagues
- Undertake ad hoc and additional duties as required and comply with reasonable management requests
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months’ experience operating CE vehicles
- Previous tipper driving experience is desirable
- Experience within the quarrying, aggregates, construction, or building materials sector is desirable
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Licence/Certifications:
- Full CE (Artic) Driving Licence
- Driver CPC Card (all modules up to date)
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Safe Pass Card (required)
- Manual Handling Certificate (preferred)
