With fertiliser prices highly volatile, there is increasing pressure on farmers to improve efficiency and sustainability.
Agricultural liming should be viewed as a crucial input applied to achieve maximum output. Choosing the right product is paramount.
Some liming materials currently available are coarse, unground, screened, and, in some instances, recycled products with very little value, requiring a large application rate to be effective.
Large volumes result in high transport and spreading costs. Therefore, it is financially imperative to ensure that the right product is applied and is fit for purpose.
McGraths Limestone has a well-established limestone facility at Waulkmill Farm, Charlestown, Dunfermline, where we distribute products from our limestone storage cells and silos. Our Grolime product is available for delivery by eight-wheelers or articulated lorries, or it can be collected ex-works. Unlike some other products, Grolime is stored indoors.
