We are seeking to hire a Dispatch Operator to join our successful and thriving business. This position is a vital link between our customers, drivers, and sales team.  The ideal candidate should have previous experience of managing of day-to-day operations in a busy office. You should have a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills and an approachable and friendly personality.

 

Working in our Dispatch Office, the duties for this position include but are not limited to:

 

  • Manage daily customer orders for ready mix concrete, aggregates, and asphalt materials
  • Schedule drivers to make deliveries
  • Monitor daily route schedules and status of deliveries with drivers and customers
  • Answer phones, assist with customer service, and take orders
  • Effectively communicate with customers and drivers to ensure all orders are delivered in a timely manner
  • Vehicle tracking and fuel time/efficiencies- liaise with drivers to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Update and maintain correct information in the CRM system

 

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and good phone manner are essential
  • Strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area & nationally
  • Ability to adjust to last minute changes and work with drivers to schedule emergency pick-up or delivery for new or established clients when necessary.
  • Ability to work in a team environment in high pressure situations
  • Ability to work self-directed (day to day) with a high level of initiative & priority setting
  • Proficient with MS Office
